MEDICAL IMAGINGBiggest Magnetic Resonance Teaching Website

TRTF'S MAGNETIC RESONANCE CHAPTER SETS UP TEACHING WEBSITE

EMRF will start a new website based on its popular textbook: An Introduction to Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. The web-version has been rewritten in such a way that newcomers to the field will be provided with the concepts, explanations, and illustrations necessary to master the basics of magnetic resonance in medicine – applicable to all kinds of clinical equipment.

The website will be completed in spring 2012, but a beta-version has already been uploaded.

. Harald Østensen dies

The global radiological community lost one of its most devoted and finest warriors for medical education and access to medical imaging in developing countries. The former head of medical imaging at the World Health Organization, Dr. Harald Østensen, died at age 65.

In 2007, The Round Table Foundation gave him its inaugural Humanitarian Award.

"For many years, Harald Østensen has exemplified decency and benevolence by organizing teaching courses and supporting appropriate means of medical imaging, particularly in countries with limited resources," the Award Committee stated at the presentation ceremony.

The "Rinckside" columns are now available on the internet. All colums since 1991 can be read or re-read. The site also contains the latest columns on Aunt Minnie Europe - "Maverinck".

The columns were written by Peter A. Rinck and do not necessarily represent the opinion of EMRF/TRTF.
